Bryan:

As Rupert mentions, there has been a list of GP/SDs that was compiled
several years ago floating around with information for at least 90% of those
units and their paint schemes at BN merger.

I am not aware of a similar compilation for switchers. I have been working
on one, but my efforts have reached a plateau at finding pictures for about
60% of the switcher fleet. In very general terms, I have observed up to 20%
of the units that at one point had the "Everywhere West/Way of the Zephyrs"
schemes still had them by BN merger. Also note on the switchers, there are
two major variations of the "Burlington" slogan scheme, the earlier one
carrying the striping from the EW/WofZ scheme, the second one having
simplified into a black/grey/white scheme. Among the schemes, there are
variations of the sill striping.

Does any one know if there is some type of shop records in an archive that
potentially could be researched that contains re-paint dates?

Bryan

This question has been raised in a number of different forms over the years.
I've saved some of the details so I'll forward them to
you off List. Perhaps when you finish your project, you could post the
results.

Does the roster data in these books contain paint scheme information? I've
compiled a roster of all the units CB&Q sent to BN and
was wanting to add the paint schemes that the units wore, but can't seem to
find that information. I believe that there were some
GP/SD 7/9's that never made it to Chinese Red before the merger. Also, for
the switchers whether they received they simplified
Blackbird scheme or not. Does anyone know a source for this information?

Thanks!
