I believe it was at a Clinic @ the St. Louis annual meet a few yrs back, we
discussed how's & why's of collecting Burlington items. To make a long story
short, for a variety of reasons, one can end up with nice RR items that are not
CB&Q. In my case I've given some things to other RR His. Soc's, esp. Rock,
C&NW & Milw that came to me as part of CB&Q acquisitions. However some items
are 'singles' that have fairly decent value you would like to get a CB&Q item
to compensate for. Conversely I've met people who have an old CB&Q item but
since they are serious collectors of Santas Fe or Pennsy, they will only swap
for an item they need. (we need a big swap exchange somewhere!)
I have the following if any of you know of a collector of same; I'd swap for
CB&Q items, especially old TT's for research purposes. (I frequently get asked
questions that my older CB&Q 'paper' is a good source of answers for but just
recently I could not give a 100% definitive answer because I was missing one TT
for the particular yr - Murphy's Law!) Contact me off list; thanks! Gerald
