According to Bill Glick's Passenger Car Roster book, 700 and 701 were
"observation cars" that had been renumbered from B&MR 104-105, but there is
no other information in the book about them. They first appeared with these
numbers in the ORER's in 1904, when the bulk of subsidiary equipment (both
freight and passenger) was renumbered, or at least had new numbers allocated
within the CB&Q numbering system. They were still listed in mid-1907 but had
disappeared from the roster by the beginning of 1908.

Working backwards, the only B&MR cars with the required numbers in the 1903
ORER was for "coaches" with no indication as to their construction, and
these cars first appeared in the 1891 ORER. Assuming that they were new in
1891 (as opposed to being renumbered from another subsidiary, etc.), they
were only 17 years old when they "disappeared", suggesting a further
renumbering, but there is nothing in Bill's Roster to support this
contention.

Hope this helps

In the 1905 Official Railway Equipment Register are listed 2 cars that
I am interested in learning more about; they are CB&Q 700 & 701, they
are listed as observation cars. I have checked Pullman and AC&F lot
lists and can't find anything on these cars.
What kind of observation cars were they? Café? Parlor? Open air
excursion types?
Who built them and when?
I haven't found any indication from the 1910 Official Guide I have on
what train they were used.
On which train were they used?
What happened to them, (no 700 or 701 is listed in the 1926 ORER I
have.)
