Thanks for your responses. I didn't realise that Plate C etc. was "so old"
as the ORER's only noted it on the freight car pages from 1969. I'm still a
touch confused over the variations in the usage of the Plate C notation in
relation to apparently identical cars, but I guess that they knew what they
were doing (or did they!!!).
And Steve, I would certainly appreciate scans of these Plates.
