Thanks for the suggestion re:Classic Trains. Have the odler issue but haven't
bought this one yet.
My request was met with more replies and information than I knew existed, it
was terriific, I really appreciate all the helpful informtion, source material
and sugggestions. Whenever you or anyone gets involved is never too late, as
I'm discovering, most layout projects are never really done, my plans have
expanded far beyond my original ideas

In regards to the Bi-level commuter cars....
In the current Classic Trains Steam Glory 2 on page 84 is a great
color photo of a Westbound dinky, four gallery and cars one power car
pulled by one of the "Q" Pacifics.
At the end of the caption it mentions an "older car" That would be
the power car (on the east end of the train no less)
Thanks for asking your question....it gets all those neet answers out
there that one didn't even know they needed to know.
