Bill Barber,
Thanks for the update. I'll compare the on-line photo of the Hudson
model to some of the photos in the color books to see what you are
refering to.
Did 3RD Rail have their Golden Gate Depot heavyweight passenger cars
or coal tower at the show? Any oher good news from the O-scale show?
At least for 3-rail O-gauge CB&Q steam, so far 3RD Rail is as good
as it gets. The only other commercially produced 3-rail steam are a
Weaver 0-6-0 from early 1990's (never seen one), Lionel Junior
Hudson #4000 (O-27, more toy than model, ~2000)in a freight set,
Lionel 0-8-0 (nice and detailed, 2005), MTH-RK 0-8-0 (nice but less
detailed, ~2001), and a Williams Hudson based on generic tooling. I
really doubt that MTH, Lionel, Weaver, Williams, or Atlas-O will
ever make specific, dedicated tooling for a CB&Q steam locomotive.
Thanks,
Bill
