What was involved in converting the auto boxes to regular boxcars?
Were there any external differences when the cars were renumbered, or
was it similar to some earlier renumberings where just the leading '9'
was dropped?

Also, in Spoor's color guide p. 48 there is a picture of 1968 rebuilt
XM-32D 39305, now filling the number slot vacated by the XA-16 boxcars.
