In May 1956, there were just 19 in the 9000-9499 series and 472 in the
39000-39499 series. By November the ratio was 50 / 441, November 1957
showed 144 / 346, and November 1958 showed 386 / 101. There were no more
renumberings until between May 1961 and August 1962, by which time all the
XA-16's had been renumbered, with 481 cars still on the roster at that date.
Do you have a specific time frame in mind?
