Ray-
The cars are plated with nickel. You will have a hard time duplicating the
finish at home as the process is done in an industrial setting and not
available in bottles. Alclad is the best process for home use.
The cars will be available fully decorated but without lettering. They
will come with all the different sized blank car name and car ownership
boards so you can do other CZ cars (although I'd wait for the announcement
of the next run that will have more car names on it) or you can leave off
the car ownership boards and do Olympus, Argo or Silver Treasure (baggage
cars) or the DZ, ARZ, or TCZ diners (they were virtually identical to the CZ
cars except some had a different shaped kitchen window). The domes and
sleepers would be stand-ins for other CB&Q cars.
