Greetings Bob,

I suspect that the 10576-10587 and the 10588-10593
series way cars were built with and largely kept their
arch bar trucks as they were not required for
interchange (and therefore could still be legally
used).

By 1943-4 when the 10594 to 10612 were built, arch bar
truck were no longer in production (they had a nasty
habit of self destructing over time) and cast trucks
were all the go.
The trucks on 10616 appear to be Barber Bettendorf
swing motion truck with integral cast journal boxes
(and here, I am definitely no expert).
These are not the standard trucks seen on the CB&Q NE
1-9 way cars.

Sometime in the mid 1950s Colorado introduced a law
mandating the use on electric powered markers on way
cars (and presumably rear passenger cars) in the
State. Yes electric light would have been a welcome
luxury for the way car crew. I have not been able to
find the date.

Many thanks,
 Mark.
