I recall and have film of bilevels arriving in St. Paul on Blackhawk No. 47
on Saturday, July 29, 1966, during the airline pilots' strike. The same
cars were then attached to the end of No. 22, the eastbound Morning Twin
Zephyr within the hour. I wondered at the time whether the presence of
those cars would limit the top speeds on a train that did a lot of fast
running to make the 6:30 time to Chicago. The above-mentioned movies are
part of my tape "Minnesota Railroad Memories", as several of you know who
have purchased it.
