Ray,

Thought the questions were about the last years of the CB&Q F units.
BN 784 was Ex BN 9818, Exx NP 6704C, Nee NP 7011D a F9A.
That unit was a 24-RL-MC-1 unit originally built for passenger service.
Neither the GN or NP had any 6BLQ units so there is really not much
to compare there. As a matter of fact all GN SD7's and SD9's and most
NP GP9's were 24-RL units.

As it happens that unit still exists as BN 972570, a Rotary Power Unit
and is probably sitting just West of the diesel shop at Havre which is right
downtown. Sort of an "active display". BN 972571 another Ex NP F9A,
this time a freight version, should be right with it. Those are the power
sources for BN 972554, Ex NP 42, an Alco rotary built in 1937. While
these units probably do not have any traction motors they do have control
stands.
