For the record, the last steam powered freight through Burlington, Iowa was
at night on September 12, 1956 with 2-10-4 6325 heading up and eastbound,
and the last revenue passenger steam run was Christmas Day, 1957, with S4
3007 leading and eastbound mail extra.

Including the C&S as a part of the Burlington, C&S 2-8-0 No. 641 was the
last steam locomotive in regular operation on a Class 1 railroad in the
United States. Its final revenue run was October 11, 1962.
