Wow, talk about fast service. Thanks, Rich. Much appreciated!
See you in April.

List,

Mike may be on the road. Since he and I discuss "all things Burlington
passenger" frequently, I know about this car. It was modeled from a Proto
2000 undec 50' single door box, as is. The original trucks were Allied Full
Cushion trucks (several manufacturers make these). The decals are custom
decals from Jerry Hamsmith (a BRHS member). The car is painted Pullman Green
(not my brown-green version, but the green-green version -- like Pollyscale
or Modelflex).

There were fifty of these cars in express service -- numbers 8500-8549. Not
having Rupert's index handy, (all hail, the god of Zephyr indexing!) I dug
through my Zephyrs and located the history of these cars in issue 1-99, no
39, pages 30-2 in the Q&A section.

These are easy to make and look great. The downside? There were only 7 or 8
in service by 1953. You see, MY car (the troop kitchen that SHOULD have won
first place) made these cars expendable. They were modified to DF load cars
and returned to freight service (oh! the shame of it all!!). The Zephyr said
that 6 cars remained in express service through 1961, but all were off the
roster by 1966.
