I used to have a computer simulation entitled, IIRC, "Locomotive
Engineer". In addition to several train routes, the software allowed you
to program one route of your own, if you had info about grade profiles,
signal locations, curvature, etc. Not having all of this info for any
prototype route, I programmed the Baltimore Division of the Chesapeake &
Western (HO) Railroad of the Balto. Society of Model Engineers. Made it
interesting to operate since the computer simulation featured
prototypical speed restrictions based on track curvature, meaning you
couldn't make up time by doing 98 mph between stations like you could on
the model...
