Leo,
Don't the cars have baffles or something to keep the contents from sloshing
around? I thought I read somewhere about the Tank Train that would cruise
in California that the cars all had baffles. I would also think it might
add to the structural integrity of the car.
Just curious. Learn something new everyday about this industry.
Thanks for the insight.
Tom

Yes, but Karl the real GOOD news is the tanks are going to get even bigger.
By that I mean longer. The move to 286,000 gross wt on rail and soon the
next
push will be to 315,000 are making the demand for ever larger cars
impossible
to ignore. The 13,500 sulfur cars are going to 15,500. The nonpiped 20's are
going to 22 and 23,000.The ixc 23mg's are going to 25,500,etc,etc ,etc. If
anyone is interested get your photos of the small tanks while you can
because
almost none wants them anymore except for extremely heavy products. Were
scrapping 'em in blocks of 50 or so. So just think soon the amount of
commodity in each car sloshing around will only get worse. Leo
