Can anyone help identify this engine? Believe it is a EMD NW1. Can&#8217;t see the number. Photo was taken in Indianola IA in 1958. Indianola was at the end of a branch that came out of Chariton IA.

Doug, My guess is an SW-1 due to the location of the bell, class lights and if you look closely, the two gentlemen on the left are standing on the sand box of the unit. Dave From: CBQ@groups.io <CBQ@

Checking the July-August-September 1958 Locomotive Assignment Sheet, there were no NW1s assigned in this area. The Q only had two NW1s and they were both assigned to the Chicago-Aurora-LaCrosse Divis

Doug, Another member suggested that the locomotive in the photo is one of the six SW locomotives that the Q owned, not. 9130 - 9135. Here is a photo of 9134. I think that this is the same type of loc

Just to clarify..The "North Branch" is Creston-Cumberland. Still visible as you travel along Highway 92 between Cumberland and Greenfield. Lots of hill...dales...and fills along the line.between Cumb
