Checking the July-August-September 1958 Locomotive Assignment Sheet, there were no NW1s assigned in this area. The Q only had two NW1s and they were both assigned to the Chicago-Aurora-LaCrosse Divisions at this time. However, there were 4 SWs, numbers 9131, 9132, 9133 and 9135 operating on the Galesburg and Ottumwa Divisions at this time. The SW model also had the three vents on the hood like the NW1s. Can anyone help identify this engine? Believe it is a EMD NW1. Can’t see the number. Photo was taken in Indianola IA in 1958. Indianola was at the end of a branch that came out of Chariton IA.
