At least it's new to me as it wasn't in my bookmark file. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/ Lots of Burlington (including Leo's beloved 4978) and other RR photos here. Enjoy! Paul (Kossart) - "The CB

Paul, Thanks for posting that site. Did a search on Keokuk and found a 1953 timetable for the Centreville branch and photographic evidence of the Pioneer Zephyr passing through Keokuk (although the d

I question that the train was the Pioneer Zephyr. The photo is too blurred to tell. My belief is that it could be the Mark Twain Zephyr but, I could be wrong. Maybe if the Zephyrs were serviced in Bu

The Mark Twain Zephyr would make more sense to me, but I haven't done any photo comparison yet. I agree that the depot is magnificent. It's one of the reasons I chose to model Keokuk. I haven't built

That is the MTZ. The power unit and second unit baggage car are clearly arranged like the Injun Joe and Becky Thatcher. The easiest way to tell that it definitely is not the Pioneer Zephyr is to look

A couple of other comments. Obviously the date listed with the photo(1/1/1930) is wrong since none of the Zephyrs existed at that point. The vehicles appear to be mid to late 1930's vintage, but base

Duncan, I was in Keokuk in July of 2004. Were the F7s from the Algoma Central parked in yard when you were there. I'll try to send you a few pictures I took when I was there. Keith Nystedt Home Lendi

Yeah, I'd love to be able to read the lettering on the feed mill in the background. I'd like to do it accurately when I get around to building it. Duncan blurred could know Photo Site by for that --

Keith and List, That photo is not the Pioneer Zephyr #9900. The cab windows are straight across, the Pioneer Zephyr was the only Budd Shovel Nose that had the "beetle brow" windshields. I always wond
