I don't remember ever seeing the traps up on any of the power cars (I commuted from Brookfield, then later Lisle, Belmont in the sixties and early seventies). I don't think the regular steel commuter

My recollections are that when they were "worked" (90% of the time), traps and doors were latched for use by passengers and not opened/closed from stop to stop. They were always the "smoker". Cummins
