Ed, I've always felt that the various shops were not using the same color paint. For example the SP&S 318xxx series box cars that were purchased early were very definitely a different green than the

I don't know the specific shade name, but it was definitely a 'brighter' shade of green than Cascade and not quite as bright as that used by the MKT (but close). I remember seeing those units on the

The various " BN " Casade greens from different sources result from the use of different pigments being used by different manufacturers/ suppliers . The weathering to a " bluer" shade is indeed cause
