I received my Broadway Limited E7A last night, and got in some quality time with it (and my daughter), so I thought I would post a mini-review. I will also say that it looks like I will have an extra

Jan, You've compared the Broadway E7s to a Proto 2000 E8 so I'm to think that you don't own any Proto E7s? Now here's the question, would you have bought the Broadway E7s if you already owned the Pro

I saw and heard a demo last month at my hobby shop in San Jose - the E7 was painted in Southern Pacific colors. I too have several Proto2000 E7's and 8's. The detail on the E7 looked extremely good,

Mike, I'll be blunt...if the sound doesn't matter to you, then I wouldn't bother. The level of detail is comparable to the P2K version (I don't have a P2k E7 yet), and it is similarly powered. I like

Now what I want to see is more locomotives with a decent smoke system. Talk about cool...blasting the horn on the E7 at full throttle with black smoke billowing out as you pull out of the station. I

Mike, In my humble opinion, the BLI nose is a huge improvement over the P2K issue. I didn't like the finish, though, too "silver" for me. I think I may get some undecs and use Scalecoat I Aluminum (m

I thought the paint and level of detail on the Broadway Limited E7s was certainly better than the Proto 2000 models but not so substantially to cause me to purchase them. Thanks for your review of th

Rich, It would be very interesting to take some different E Unit models down to St. Louis to compare to the real E8/9 that is there. I'm just not knowledgable enough with E / F unit noses to know wha

I haven't seen the Q E7 yet, although I've seen the SP version. The nose is wonderful. Just remember if you are using a BL E7 with a PK E7 or 8 the sounds won't work as you have to use the direction
