Ray, The original E-Unit Bulletin (#10) shows a very deteriorated shadow stripe paint scheme on 9921B on December 31, 1950. The caption said it was re-painted shortly after into the standard scheme.

Ray, Like I said, though, there seems to be another unit (not 9921) that had the shadow stripe scheme. I need to look for that photo. I do love the ragged look of the paint scheme by December, 1950.
