I read somewhere (wish I could remember where..brain getting old) that when the Q leased these engines to SP they were in prime condition. When the SP returned them, they were pretty much scrap mater

Interesting. The car has a iron underframe? Looks like a fish belly.  As to the crop. It is either bush beans or potatoes. Great Northern or white beans also comes to mind. Crop to be sold to the Arm
