"Jerry" Best ever shot, and I've attached it here. It
depicts triple-headed Q steam on the Espee in southern
California!
Two oil-burning R-4 Prairies -- 1955 and 1907 -- lead
oil-burning
S-3 Pacific 2974 and the interminable string of freight
cars that make up
First 824 as it blasts its way out of the Los angles
metroplex at
Alhambra on Feb. 22, 1942. The green flags hung ahead of
the train
indicator boards on the 1955 do indeed indicate that a
second section
follows. And of course there's a blackout shield on the
1955's
cuckoo clock headlight. What a scene.
