Tim,
I know..lets say in good serviceable condition. A steam engine if properly maintained and cared for can last many years. Like your grandfathers ax. Six new handles and two new heads, but still you grandfathers ax.

I read somewhere (wish I could remember where..brain getting old) that when the Q leased these engines to SP they were in prime condition. When the SP returned them, they were pretty much scrap material.
