wouldn’t give to see the rest of the glass plate
negatives from this photographer!
I am guessing
that this may very well be one of the earliest
CB&Q Waycar photos extent…or is that ruled out
because the steps are passenger car width and it is a
baggage? …..the early version of the No.7 truck and
standard 3 window body is intriguing…..sure would like
to see what the cupola looked like. In the stereo
view of Aurora it looks like the early cupolas were
very narrow, short and tall. I wonder if this wasn’t
taken in the vicinity of the approach to La
Grange…..although it could have been anywhere.

With regards to engine 53
there is CB&Q on the cab but there is no
lettering on the tender that I can see.
Here is the car that goes
with it. You can see the CB&Q that looks
like black with probably red shadow.
