I've only done one SSS car, a BA-19 that I scratchbuilt using styrene. The decal artwork was drawn in Corel Draw and printed on an inkjet printer for high resolution grayscale. I sealed the inkjet prints by spraying the decals with Krylon Crystal Clear, giving them a glossy appearance. The car was painted with Krylon Flat Aluminum, which was no longer available last time I checked. After decaling the car, I sprayed Krylon Matte Finish to seal the decals. The decal film doesn't show, and the car body color under the letterboard is the same as the rest of the car body color in the attached picture.

It's too bad that Krylon Flat Aluminum isn't available now, as it dries semi-gloss, not dead flat, and it's a very good color for SSS cars. I think Tru Color Silver is the wrong choice for SSS cars, since it's too shiny. Tru Color makes several stainless steel and aluminum colors that aren't as shiny as silver, so maybe one of those would be a close match the Krylon Flat Aluminum. Krylon Matte Finish isn't dead flat, either. It's more of a semi-gloss like their flat aluminum.
