When the car is painted with a silver gloss paint and then decaled, doing an overcoat with a clear
dull coat, the underside of the decal will not "disappear". As the paint under the decal is not covered.
It's been a while since I did any painting with my air brush, but as best I recall, I think I used a 50/50 mix of gloss and semi-gloss to coat the decals. See the attached photo of my RPO #2330
As a suggestion, take a sample piece of plastic and spray it with silver gloss and then place decals on it. Do samples of semi-gloss and then 50/50 gloss and semi-gloss over coats.
I am sure others will have to info to help you with this issue.

Subject: [CBQ] Decals on silver paint
Every time I do a silver car the decals show up when I overcoat them. It has happened numerous times. I painted with True Color silver, waited five days this time and then applied the decals. The people at True Color say the paint can
be decaled, no fixing is necessary. I put Microscale Micro Set on first, apply the decal, wait a while and then put on the Micro Sol. I waited thirty hours and then sprayed Tamiya clear dull. As you can see in the attached photo, the entire decal shows up.
It's not silvering. The decals look apsolutely fine untill overcoating. This has happenened with Scalecoat silver, and with Testors dullcoat. Any ideas?
