Nelson - Leo is correct.  That image dates to September 1964.  See BB 65 for Leo's superb article on the tragic head-on collision.  If I remember correctly, the picture was taken by Marty Bernard who was the tower operator/leverman at the time - Louis

Looking at the picture you posted, there seems to be red paint under the white paint. Do you have the date for the picture? Since the topic of structure colors has come up...

 

I am modeling the Sheepyard industrial area in Montgomery IL and would like some guidance about a few structure colors. 

Specifically the colors of Montgomery Tower, the MOW building and the Livestock barns in the mid-60's.

They look white in the pictures I've seen, but now I'm wondering.
