I can’t speak with confidence, but it was my understanding that white paint came after the BN merger, so presumably, structures would still be Indian Red and Bronze Green until 1970 or after. Looking at the picture you posted, there seems to be red paint under the white paint. Do you have the date for the picture? The white paint is peeling, so that may mean white paint was used earlier than 1970. Interesting question.

Since the topic of structure colors has come up...

 

I am modeling the Sheepyard industrial area in Montgomery IL and would like some guidance about a few structure colors. 

Specifically the colors of Montgomery Tower, the MOW building and the Livestock barns in the mid-60's.

They look white in the pictures I've seen, but now I'm wondering.
