Yes, they were white in the mid 60’s. The Q changed to painting structures white in the late 50’s.

I lived in Aurora and went by them often so I saw it first hand. often crossed the tracks at Webster St in my grandfathers car . Remember the tower well as it was right next to Webster St.

The picture shows that the white was peeling pretty quickly off the previous standard colors.

I dont know the exact year of repainting. But the paint gang had to be parked on a sheep yard track for quite awhile painting all the buildings.

I am modeling the Sheepyard industrial area in Montgomery IL and would like some guidance about a few structure colors. 

Specifically the colors of Montgomery Tower, the MOW building and the Livestock barns in the mid-60's.

They look white in the pictures I've seen, but now I'm wondering.
