Greetings Jim,

As always, you are a gentleman.

May you and your crew enjoy the holiday season.
As for me, it is summer down in Aust. and I am heading to the beach.Emoji

Mark,

Thank you!  I’m glad you enjoyed the newest video.

For all questions C&S, I always refer to Hol Wagner’s “The Colorado Road”.

Page 411 has the answer to your C&S questions:  Standard gauge freight steam engines were lettered in “yellow paint”, while passenger steam engines were “gold leaf”.  Looks like aluminum as a color was discontinued on standard gauge engines in 1928.

I used Microscale Decal set #87-1130 when I numbered my engines, beginning 30 years ago.

I kitbashed my C&S cabooses from Roundhouse kits to get the correct window configuration.  I wrote an article about it in the June 2003 issue of Model Railroading.

For my ATSF cabooses, I followed an Andy Sperandeo article in the September 1991 Model Railroader, detailing two Athearn kits.  I didn’t worry about the numbers, but I put in working markers as I described in my MRing article – being sure to get the marker colors correct for the ATSF (red and YELLOW).

My ATSF runs are only visible for about 10 feet until they spiral down to staging in South Denver .  Not the case for you on the Joint Line.

 I hope that helps.

 Jim
