There’s a need for a BB on signals. Several years ago, I talked to Glen Hogue (may have botched his name), who was researching Q signals. I’m still hoping he or someone else will follow up with a bulletin on signals and train order boards on branch lines.

 

I came to the Q party late – after I retired in 2008 to be exact, so I’m dependent upon others for modeling information. I lived in Florida until age 10 (1953), in Alaska until age 16 (1959), and in Florida and  Arkansas until 1970, so I never saw the Q in action. After retiring from the University of Iowa and subsequent consulting jobs, I looked for a branch line to model, and selected the Burlington-Washington Subdivision in 1953, since it’s close to Iowa City, and I could do field research for prototype modeling. Not much left of that line, as it was abandoned and demolished in 1981-82. BB#30 is the best source for modeling – thank you Dave Lotz!
