I'm reading and respecting the comments from those of you who knew Charlie.  I never met him but we had some email exchanges.  He and I share a different sort of connection -- we both have unusual last names.  I recall reading and chuckling at posts here from Charlie discussing his name being mangled. That sounds familiar!  To me our last names set us apart and also sort of forged a bond.
