David Streeter mentioned the name boards.  There were so many little differences between the orders of gallery cars that, without researching them carefully, it would be easy to get some of the details wrong: grab iron differences, toilet windows, drip rail differences above the center doors, end details, variations on the BN cars (not counting the extensive underbody details) after 1970, etc.

I was fortunate to have permission to roam these cars in the Hill Yard and at Aurora in the early 80's, and the notes I took indicated that there were at least 10 different variations between the #700 and #795 in the CB&Q era pre-head-end power, and more variations with the BN cars.

I hope Rapido does their research.  If BRHS decides that it is appropriate to help them, I would certainly be willing to share all the notes, sketches and photos that I have.
