OK, I admit my ignorance of Pennsy and B&O headend car details and concede that I was wrong in identifying the car in the Corbin photo I posted. But I know with certainty that Pennsy express cars, whether converted from express reefers or not, were fairly
common on the Q between Chicago and Denver from the postwar period through the early 1960s.

I hate to disagree with you, but the car in Corbin’s photo is a B&O car. It has the unique slab frame riveted trucks and is shorter than the PRR baggage cars and maybe even
their express reefers as well.
Here is a shot of a F&C HO kit that matches right down to the four vents on the car centerline. If Bernie had made the shot in color Blue instead of Tuscan Red would have
been the first clue!

It's a Pennsy express car; they were frequent visitors to the Q. See attached scan from 1945 -- a photo that appears in the current
Burlington Bulletin.
What is the second car in the consist? The one behind the baggage car? I have seen several of these in pictures but can’t place it.
thank you,
Brian Durham
