Pretty sure I remember photos in TRAINS magazine which depicted a power pool agreement between CB&Q and the Southern Railway with trains running through at Centralia, IL.

Hi All,

Was wondering if you could point me to resources that would illustrate the CBQ routes that had run through motive power?

I recently picked up a second hand book "Colorful Colorado Railroads in the 1960's" by Ronald C Hill which has images of CBQ power on D&RGW routes west of Denver, NP leased F units on C&S but also a photo of PRR units on the CD hotshot freight which is captioned as being very rare west of Mississippi. The units look as though they are SD35 or 40's so latter half of the 60's and pre the PennCentral merger.

The BRHS web site and Flickr pages have a fair number of images of CBQ/UP pooled power for services to Hastings but would other eastern roads have pooled power in the 1st half of the 1960's with railroads that served west of Chicago and specifically the CBQ?
