I didn’t receive the wheel report but here’s what I think you’re seeing.
in all things RR short is required to reduce writing and space. Much work was abbreviated to station call letters that were leftover from telegraph days.
GT is Galesburg.
CK is Congress Park.
Icing info. Is on the waybill along with any special requirements.
Routing for much of the perishable business was Q(Congress Park)IHB. Some but not much went direct through Cicero to eastern roads. For several reasons all covered in an upcoming BRHS article that details Congress Park and perishable business in great detail. Right down to what the IHB did with the cars and where they went.

Greetings

Thank you all for this most interesting thread.

Great to see some reefers amongst the consist.
Did the conductor note the icing requirements on the Form?
Ventilator only, full icing, staged icing, etc?
When the load was to be temperture checked?
Reicing points?

I am not sure what the Special Information code means:
 Ice B1?
 Ice GT?

CK = Chicago? Origin?
IHB = Indiana Harbour Belt Blue Island?

Mike,

Although not going to Montgomery, there are 5 stock cars of sheep headed for Clyde and feeding on Bill Hirt's form 1645 train list in this thread.  At least you could get car #'s off of it.
I think the train, 2nd LC east, was to become Lincoln - Chicago train 100 after 1968.  If anyone can confirm this it would be great.  There's a lot of neat info on this 1959 train list/wheel report.
Thanks to Bill,

Ken Thompson

Leo, do you have any images you can share of the computer printouts of the wheel reports and/or switch lists that you referred to above?  I want to try and reproduce them for my layout.  Any examples will do but those for the mainline to Galesburg, esp those with references to the Montgomery Sherp Yard would be especially appreciated.

I was hoping to talk to you at the Streator meet but my son is graduating from SIU that day.

Thanks, Mike Offerman
