As FYI even to this day most of the racks on auto carriers are owned by the railroad and the flat is TTX owned.

Hi Rupert,
This would be TTX 476996 which is part of the 476000-476999 series 1,000 car order of TTX F85A 85' flat cars built by ACF from Mar 1960 to Oct 1960. It is a CB&Q rack but not a CB&Q car. (This info comes from the book The TTX Story, Vol. 1, p. 139)
So are you saying this car already had a tri-level CB&Q auto rack installed? Or are the reporting marks actually CB&Q 476996. Any chance of posting the photo?
On a side note, it would be cool to find a roster of what TTX cars got CB&Q auto racks. I don't recall ever seeing one. -- Tom Mack Cincinnati, OH
