Hank,The track charts show the grade is briefly 0.76% going north out of Prospect Hill (MP 10.39). There is another brief 0.65% grade just south of Bissell (MP 11.34) and 0.57% where U.S. 66 crossed overhead (MP 12.83). Most of the rest is about 0.4-0.5%. It leveled out just north of Larimore (MP 13.30). I am sure that single F unit was working as hard as it could and was quite a sight. The sound of trains traveled to my parents home due to some cuts that channeled the sound. So I heard a train coming but it seemed forever before the train reached me. There was a single F Unit pulling this freight making a few miles an hour. As it passed I began to hear a second diesel pushing this creeping train up this long grade, it was an old Ballwin Switcher giving everything it had to help the poor F Unit up this long grade. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
