All,
I happen to have a set of Bn spins that I had digitalized by a local copy shop for both Omaha and Council Bluffs circa 1978. Those were given to me by a friend a few years ago and if there is any interest I can send them via email for a future project.

Tom,
One quick, easy source for what your needing is the BN Spins booklets. Each shows spurs and industries on each by “zones”. While some industries names may have Changed in the first few BN years most had not.

I am working on a BRHS web site project to document the CB&Q's rail network as of the late 1960's. This will include a station search (1,733 stations) with map location, station information such as photos, track profile, operating division and more..., and line segments (260 segments) which will show a map, list stations in order on each segment, track profiles for that segment and more, and a station or segment search using a map feature to get you to the stations.
Jack, This sounds awesome! Thanks for working on this! I was going to bring this up separately, but now might be a better time in view of Jack's work. The list of industries along the Q on the BRHS website is very old and inadequate. Don't get me wrong, it's better than nothing, but it apparently came originally from the NMRA OpSig so it is not particularly Q focused. For example, there are no industries listed for Oregon, IL. Kable Printing in Mt. Morris is listed, but Oregon and its industries (e.g. carnation) are not. That includes the huge sand operation at Oregon that is currently operated by Unimin. Photos I have collected from Oregon show many reefers there in the late 1960's, clearly destined for Carnation, so the operation was going strong even in the late 1960's. There were also other industries more in downtown Oregon (like Etnyre) that occasionally got cars. I recently posted about the route "around the horn" from Mendota to Denrock to Savanna. To my surprise, only one industry, Del Monte Foods in Mendota, is mentioned for the entire line from Mendota to Savanna. But when I went through the track charts there were plenty of sidings in the towns, no doubt for grain elevators and perhaps deliveries of agricultural products - fertilizer, farm equipment, maybe ammonia. So with Jack's agreement I am proposing we expand the project to add industries to his location information. I know this will be a work in progress, but it seems now would be the better time to start doing this, making sure we have the "placeholders" to have this information. And since I am suggesting this, I am also volunteering to help with this, especially the C&I, Around-the-Horn, and Savanna to Mpls-StP to get started. I would probably need some help from those familiar with the route, but I have all the track charts and could start documenting sidings and checking the books I have for photos, etc. I just think this would be a great place to "park" the industries served information that I already realized was lacking in sufficient data on the BRHS website. -- Tom Mack Cincinnati, OH
