Train 43 in 1951 left Kansas City at 6:30 pm arriving St. Joseph at 8:05 pm. Bus connection at Beverly for Leavenworth. Motorcar connection at Armour for Atchison. Train 43 then ran via Table Rock to Lincoln. Train only had RPO, Baggage-Mail, Coaches and a 12-1 sleeper KC to Alliance. Kansas City Union Station is shown as a meal stop. At Lincoln, Baggage-Mail cars from Omaha along with a 10 Section-2 Compartments-1 Drawing Room sleeper Omaha to Glacier Park (or Shelby MT depending on time of year) and a 10 section-2 Double Bedroom-1 Compartment sleeper Omaha to Casper. These were transferred from the westbound Coloradan. A dining car was also added for Lincoln to Billings.
This train connected with the NP's North Coast Limited at Billings and the GN's Western Star at Great Falls.
John f. Strauss Jr.'s book Burlington Route Passenger Trains -
Volume 2 has more information on this train including an actual
consist from August 1952 on pages 66 and 67 of the book.
Train 42 was the opposite return trip.
By this time, the trains had lost their name which was the
Adventureland.
