All - From the image provided, it appears that this particular oiler has had its spout cropped, possibly for use in a shop setting.  For me, the cropped spout much reduces it's value as a collectible.

Steam locomotive oilers marked "BR" or "Burlington Route" occasionally come up for bid on the Internet.  I purchased one with a complete long spout for about $75.00 a year or so ago - Louis

MARKED AND STAMPED ON BOTTOM: "CB&Q RR" .......ON SIDE: "HANDLAN, ST LOUIS USA"

SIZE: 5" DIA. X 7" OIL TANK,  23" LENGTH OVERALL.

FULLY FUNCTIONAL SPRING LOADED HEAVY GAUGE WIRE STOPPER IN SPOUT, SOLID HANDLE, ORIGINAL VENTED SCREW CAP ON TANK, ALL ORIGINAL AND IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.

OBVIOUSLY THIS HAS BEEN USED ON THE CB&Q RR AND IS APPROXIMATELY 80 YEARS OLD+/-.A guess, No date or patent stamp.

Very difficult to find this particular type steam locomotive oiler can, stamped CB&,Q RR in rust free fully functional condition.

Item will be carefully packed in ample cusioning and a cardboard shipping box, and shipped via priority mail USPS.
