Hi Nolan, Here's the elevator at Gilson on the Peoria Sub. 10 miles SE of Galesburg. I've modeled it using a Walthers wood sheathed elevator covered over using Campbell corrugated iron sheathing (simulated). I'll measure my model and send a pic, but as I remember the sheathing on this elevator was put up with 6 ft. vertical exposure per sheet. If you look at the small door on the facing side this comes out pretty close. Being a carpenter all my life makes me a pretty good judge at estimating measurements. A second shot shows the elevator at Yates City a little further down the line to Peoria. This elevator appears to have it's sheathing exposed about 3 ft. to the weather. As you can easily see there's no set dimension for the exposer except to say there was probably at least a 2 to 3" overlap. Regular wood lap siding only has 1" of overlap.
