My Dad and his two brothers had a total of over 120 years with 40+ years each as electricians with the Q and BN in Denver and Chicago, all IBEW union men.
I can’t recall them ever receiving any longevity recognition other than the proverbial “attaboy”!
Any former Q electricians out there that might clarify this?

Since locomotive engineers were not uniformed employees, our recognition for service was presented to us in the form of lapel pins. Every five years if you were a member in good standing, you were presented with a new service pin. The
union officers also had their own pins designating the office they held.
This was recognition by the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers for time served, not the company.
Years later the company started to send out a catalog to all employees that, depending on your years of service you got to choose what you wanted if you qualified.
