he Historical Societies Bulletin #32 has pictures of C&S 2-bay hoppers in sugar beet service, none of which are lettered like the model.

I don't think that scheme lasted into the 1940's. I think the scheme used on Accurail's USRA hopper is more appropriate for your time period:

Dear Group,

I would like to ask you about the accuracy of that Intermountain 2 bay hopper's lettering for the C&S.
It is the plan to make decals for many more cars but not without your consultation. I was not able to find prototype pictures aside of some for the CB&Q. Don't know a lot about the Colorado Road's lettering for the mid 1940's.

Your help is highly appreciated!
