Well said Steve.
To all keep in mind the CBQ Yahoo site is Not part of the BRHS. it is there for anyone interested in the Burlington to exchange info.Chat groups do not, by their nature, lend themselves to extensive historical discussions.
Anyone wishing to gain knowledge of the history of the Burlington is welcome to:
1)join the society for a year at a modest $40 which will supply a calendar,2 issues of the Zephyr(our newsletter),2 issues of the Burlington Bulletin( one of the premier historical periodicals). Recent features have been on equipment, structures, bridges, operations, and much more. Membership also gains access to our two annual events that highlight 4-6 speakers giving in depth information on various aspects of the RR. Last benefit is access to our official chat group that focuses on BRHS as an organization.
2)go to our website, Burlingtonroute.org (open to all) and purchase our researched publications, projects, etc. the website also has information and pictures of our archives containing tens of thousands of original Burlington documents utilized for researching.

We do preserve the history IF you would look at our publications. In order to preserve we need to research and this is done by trips at our own expense to archives and libraries some half way across the country from where we live. Where it is like panning for gold. You run a lot of gravel thru before you MIGHT come up with something. Then it is a job to sit down and go thru the notes and come up with a story and hopefully some photos. NEXT it waiting your turn to get published Telegraphic Calls is in the works and at present is a five page list that we need to go over and make sure we are correct before it can be put out in the Zephyr or Bulletin Steve in SC
While I appreciate the modelling aspect of the Q, and have noticed y'all take interest in its history, at least as far as major interests go, I will admit I am a wee disappointed that no one has responded to an archaic part of the history of the Q. Should not EVERY aspect of its history be preserved? That has been my calling, and I had hoped this was a group of serious historians as well as dedicated modellers.
