I’ve used a Paasche Series H single action since 1978. I use the #3 tip for organic solvent based paints and the #5 tip for acrylic paints. A couple of years
ago I bought the both the Iwata Eclipse gravity flow and siphon feed double action airbrushes. The Iwata is easier to clean, largely because the plating isn’t as good on the Paasche. Double action airbrushes give better control, but I’ve found that the pattern
is smaller than the Paasche so you need more passes and usually two coats. I use the #3 in the gravity feed and #5 in the siphon feed Iwata. I use the Iwata for all model painting except large structures and when painting track, where the large pattern of
the Paasche comes in handy.

I've been air brushing for years and have been using the Paashe single action all this time. I know many prefer the duel action airbrush, but I have never had any bad experiences with the single
action.
I've gotten great results, many compliments on my work and best of all, I like it.

Subject: [CBQ] Airbrush question
I dug my airbrush out of the box it has been stored in for several years
only to find the outlet opening was smashed. I am now in the market for
a new airbrush and am asking the collective wisdom for comments on brand
name and type.
I need one for general model work, cars, structures, scenery, etc. It
has been a very long time since I have used one so I have to consider
myself a beginner. My railroad room is connected to the shop so I have
a handy air supply but a small dedicated compressor may be better.
Advice, suggestions?
