The cooling coils, or radiators referred to in this line of thought, were originally horizontal between the fuel tank and the floor beneath the diesel engine. That location did not allow for adequate air-flow to cool the air and curb condensation. The Q's mechanical department people came up with the simple solution of changing the coil location to the vertical mounting alongside the air reservoir. This seemed to have been a problem only on the early EMC/EMD switchers such as the NW-1, SW, SW-1 and early NW-2s, as photos of those units all show the modification.
